Business Analyst

Overview of the position:

Dynamic Structures is looking for a Business Analyst to take ownership over in-depth business requirements analysis, re-design, and implementation.  This role anticipates and analyzes business requirements and translates them into effective systems solutions. Specifically, this role will be tasked with the research, implementation, and maintenance of an ERP system for the company.

This position reports to the VP Ride Systems Manufacturing & Procurement and will be responsible for determining the requirements of business improvement projects, preparation of implementation guides and other supporting documents, clearly communicating business solutions to stakeholders, and providing post-implementation support to end users.

 

Responsibilities:

ERP System

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and document business processes;
  • Identify opportunities for improvements with respect to speed, effectively and efficiency throughout the entire order to delivery business process;
  • Lead the selection and implementation of the ERP system;
  • Take ownership over the performance and stability of the ERP application;
  • Work with key stakeholders to identify and prioritize areas for improvement related to the ERP application;
  • Develop and implement ERP’s dashboard and corporate reporting system;
  • Develop KPI’s to measure system performance and establish measurement criteria;
  • Communicate changes and releases that impact the functionality of the ERP application to the impacted users;
  • Coordinate system enhancements and changes across impacted stakeholders;
  • Administer the ERP application and maintaining key application configurations;
  • Manage work activities of outside contractors working on the ERP application;
  • Other duties as required.

Other

  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand the needs of departments and the company as a whole;
  • Use data modelling practices to support findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements to core manufacturing processes;
  • Consider potential risks and risk mitigation procedures attached to suggested solutions;
  • Produce written documentation to support findings and to present to stakeholders when necessary;
  • Ensure plans are made and processes are created to evaluate the impact of the changes made, including taking responsibility for overseeing and reporting on this evaluation.
  • Provide daily support for production systems including investigating and resolving complex user questions related to manufacturing systems;
  • Conduct reviews, walkthroughs and solution testing to ensure that deliverables are achieved within accepted guidelines;
  • Develop, write, and conduct training to end users and stakeholders;
  • Provide post-implementation support as required to end users;
  • Other duties as required.

 

Qualifications & Requirements: 

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field;
  • Excellent knowledge of Manufacturing and Engineering systems and processes;
  • Excellent knowledge of Product Development Process (PDP) and Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) in manufacturing environment;
  • Proven experience with ERP system implementations
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a role of a business analyst which includes:
    • Analysis and design of business systems
    • Conducting training
    • Providing end-user support
    • Writing process and technical documentation
    • Experience leading the implementation / go-live of major IT projects in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to re-engineer processes, form policies, and develop and implement new strategies
  • Exposure to project management frameworks;
  • Exposure to process modeling concepts and tools;
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to persuade thinking and gain acceptance on complex and critical issues;
  • Ability to work with multiple parties and stakeholders in an ambiguous environment with changing and competing demands;
  • Strong computer and MS Office skills: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
  • Fluency in English, spoken and written.
