Overview of the position:

We are looking for dedicated and driven individuals to take on assembly and benchwork duties in our busy manufacturing facility!   This role includes a variety of activities that support the overall production environment: materials handling, using hand tools, running small machines, final assembly of parts, and various other tasks.

You are the ideal candidate if you’re a mechanically inclined “hands-on” person with the ability to take direction while exercising sound trouble-shooting and problem solving judgment in the assembly process. The ability to maintain a clean, organized work area is very important as are excellent communication skills.

This position will be a member of the Shopmen’s Local 712 union.


  • Prepare accomplish assigned tasks by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists
  • Gather and maintain parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials required for assigned tasks
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies
  • Verify specifications by measuring assembled components
  • Resolve assembly problems through use of sound judgment while providing continuous communication and updates to the Chargehand/Foreman on duty
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Maintain supplies inventory through close communication with the Logistics team to determine inventory levels and anticipating needed supplies
  • Other reasonable tasks as required

 Skills & Requirements:

  • Completion of high school/secondary school diploma
  • Work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with mechanical assembly
  • WHMIS and other safety related training is an asset
  • First aid training and certification is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems operations
  • Basic knowledge in the operation of pneumatic and hand operated tools and torque equipment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work assigned shifts as required. Dynamic Structures runs up to 3 shifts each day
